Rubrika — content plan calendar for iOS
Effective date: 3 August 2026
Last updated: 4 September 2026
Short version
Rubrika works offline and keeps your data on your device. We do not collect, receive, store or transmit your personal data. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs in the App. We do not have a server that your content is sent to, and we could not read your content even if we wanted to.
The longer version below explains exactly what stays on your device, what Apple handles, and what rights you have.

Under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, we are the "controller" for the limited processing described here. In practice, almost all processing happens locally on your device and never reaches us.
2. What is stored on your device
The App stores the following locally, in its own storage on your iPhone or iPad:
| What | Examples |
|---|---|
| Your content plan | projects, posts, dates and times, publication slots |
| Text you write | drafts, captions, notes, formatting |
| Topics and settings | your content topics, emoji, selected networks and websites, app preferences |
| Photos you attach | images you pick from your library or take with the camera inside the App |
| Sign-in details | see section 3 |
This data never leaves your device through the App. It is not uploaded to us or to anyone else. iCloud synchronisation is not enabled in this version of the App.
If you have iCloud Backup or a computer backup switched on for your device, your device backup may include the App's data. That backup is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours.
3. Sign in with Apple
The App offers Sign in with Apple. You can also use the App without signing in at all.
If you choose to sign in, Apple gives the App:
- a user identifier — a value created by Apple specifically for this App;
- your name, if you agree to share it;
- your email address, or Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide your real one.
The App stores these values on your device only, in the app's local preferences. They are not sent to us and we never see them. We do not operate an account server; signing in does not create an account with us.
To sign out, open Settings in the App and choose "Sign out". To remove your data, use "Delete account" in the same screen: this deletes your projects and content from the device and signs you out. You can also revoke the App's access entirely in iOS Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple.
4. Device permissions
The App asks for permissions only at the moment a feature needs them. You can refuse or revoke any of them in iOS Settings, and the rest of the App will keep working.
| Permission | Why | Where the data goes |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | to take a photo for a post without leaving the App | the photo is saved into the App's local storage on your device |
| Photo library (add) | to save post images back to your library | written to your library on your device |
| Microphone | to dictate the text of a post | audio is used for speech recognition, see below |
| Speech recognition | to convert your speech into text in 13 languages | processed by Apple, see below |
5. Speech recognition — important
Dictation uses Apple's speech recognition framework built into iOS. Depending on your device, your iOS version and the selected language, the audio may be processed on Apple's servers rather than entirely on your device.
This means that when you use dictation, what you say may be transmitted to Apple for recognition. This processing is carried out by Apple under Apple's privacy policy (apple.com/legal/privacy), not by us. We do not receive your audio, we do not store it, and we have no access to it.
If you prefer not to send audio to Apple, do not use the dictation feature — type your text instead. Everything else in the App works without it.
6. Purchases and subscriptions
Paid subscriptions are sold by Apple through your Apple Account. Apple processes the payment and holds your payment details. We never receive your card number, billing address, or Apple Account identity.
We receive from Apple only aggregated, anonymised sales and financial reports — for example, how many subscriptions were sold in a country. These reports do not identify individual buyers.
The App checks whether a valid subscription exists so it can unlock paid features. That check is made against Apple's services; it does not send us anything.
7. What we do not do
To be explicit, the App contains:
- no analytics or telemetry of any kind;
- no advertising and no advertising identifiers;
- no tracking across apps or websites, and no data shared with data brokers;
- no third-party SDKs — the App has zero third-party dependencies;
- no crash reporting service.
Because of this, the App's App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
8. Legal basis for processing (EEA and UK)
Where the GDPR applies, and to the extent any processing described here involves us at all, our legal basis is:
- performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) — to provide the App's features you asked for;
- legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — to keep the App working correctly and secure.
We do not rely on consent for any processing, because we do not carry out any processing that would require it. We do not process special categories of personal data.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
In practice, these rights are satisfied directly on your device: your data is in your hands, and you can view, change, export or delete it at any time inside the App or by deleting the App.
If you write to us with a rights request, we will respond, but in most cases our honest answer will be that we hold no data about you to disclose, correct or delete, because none of it ever reached us.
California residents. We do not sell or share personal information, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted by the CCPA. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
10. Data retention and deletion
We do not retain your data, because we do not receive it.
On your device:
- Delete a project or post — removes that content from the App;
- Delete account in the App's Settings — removes your projects and content and signs you out;
- Delete the App — removes the App's local storage, including your entire content plan.
Deleting the App does not cancel a paid subscription. Manage that in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
11. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from anyone. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will look into it.
12. International transfers
Because your data stays on your device, the App itself does not transfer your personal data across borders.
Two exceptions are handled by Apple rather than by us: speech recognition (section 5) and payments (section 6). Apple operates globally and its transfers are governed by Apple's own privacy policy and safeguards.
13. Security
Your data is protected by the security of your own device: the App relies on iOS sandboxing and the device's encryption. Keep a passcode or biometric lock enabled — that is the single most effective protection for your content plan.
Because nothing is sent to a server, there is no server-side database of user content that could be breached.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date and publish the new version at the same address. If a change is significant — for example, if a future version of the App starts sending data to a server — we will say so clearly in the App before that version processes your data.
